PCAS Summer BBQ!
5th June 2024
With the beginning of June and the sun starting to show, staff and friends decided to celebrate with a PCAS Summer BBQ!
The BBQ was hosted in Faversham and brought together staff, service users, family and friends from various areas, all across Kent. The staff were most helpful and welcoming and hosted a variety of cooked food that everyone enjoyed.
In attendance a total of 21 people!
BBQ food included burgers in buns including vegetarian options, sausages in buns, chicken skewers, minted lamb koftas, salad, coleslaw, potato salad, crisps fizzy drinks and squash.
Activity Co-Ordinator Shelley Lane explained, "Everyone spent some time chatting to those we had not seen for a while, whilst the BBQ got underway. Everyone seemed keen to eat once they smelt the burgers cooking. The food was laid out on a table so everyone could help themselves to what they wanted. We also spent some time looking around the garden at the hard work service users had put in"
Shelley also said "I think the joy for me during most of these events is seeing the Service Users interact with friends they have made from other areas, or catching up with friends that have moved to a different area. It's also nice to have some of the s/u keen to be involved in helping to set up and be part of the cooking process if they wanted.
People who attended the BBQ got lucky with the weather as the rain clouds stayed away.
Service Users, Sean and Stephen, described the event as a "Great Time" and are very excited for the next event PCAS has in store.
Support Worker, Charley described the event as "Fantastic" and a great way for some of the more quiet service users to come out of their shells and "Flourish".
A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to our Summer BBQ this weekend. We hope you all enjoyed it!
