CQC INSPECTION REPORT - PRESS RELEASE

30th July 2025

PCAS Kent Responds to CQC Report

PCAS Kent, a provider of Adult Social Care has issued a statement in response to a recent inspection report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), in which the service received an "Inadequate" rating.

While PCAS recognises and takes very seriously the concerns raised by the CQC, the provider also believes that the report does not fully reflect all of the evidence that was presented and available to the CQC at the time of inspection and after, the current standards of support and the efforts of its dedicated team.

“We acknowledge that there were areas where improvements were required at the time of inspection, and we were already in the process of taking steps to address these and have continued to do so. We pride ourselves on always endeavouring to work transparently and openly with our staff and our stakeholders” said a spokesperson for PCAS. The business had a number of extenuating circumstances that were present during the time of inspection, with the absence of two senior operational managers who would’ve been key to the inspection process and changes that the organisation was undergoing at the time.”

“Whilst we remain committed to working transparently and constructively with the regulator, we are disappointed with the inability we had to represent our actual position.”

We have already raised our concerns with CQC through the only route available which is the Factual Accuracy Check.”

Since the inspection some 4 months ago, PCAS Kent has continued making improvements and implemented a further action plan focused on strengthening governance, staff engagement, training, and service delivery; these improvements are already showing positive outcomes.

“Our priority has always been, and continues to be, the wellbeing and safety of the individuals we support,” added the spokesperson “We are confident that we are addressing the actual issues that were found and when we have a re-inspection, it will reflect the values, commitment, and quality of support that define our service. We are proud of our staff and the fantastic work they do and for so many excellent outcomes that we’re supporting people to achieve. We wish this too had been represented in some way”

PCAS Kent remains fully committed to continuous improvement and welcomes open dialogue with families and stakeholders, whilst working closely with the CQC and local authorities as part of this journey.
