Introducing Joanne: Our New Service Manager for Folkestone!

When someone is prepared for a challenge, they are called confident and prepared. When someone ensures the best for their team and area, they are called a leader. But when someone is both, they are called Joanne.

This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Joanne Rowe, the newest member of the PCAS Kent team!

Joanne has recently joined us as the Service Manager for Folkestone and is eager to make a positive impact. Her passion lies in ensuring that service users lead the best possible lives while also empowering staff to bring the same level of dedication and enthusiasm to their roles.

A Word from Joanne:

"My name is Joanne, and I am the Service Manager for Folkestone. It is my job to make sure that my staff are knowledgeable and receive any necessary training to support their roles. My goal is to ensure that operations run as smoothly as possible and that my area is a fun and rewarding place to work.

Before becoming a Service Manager, I was also a Support Worker for PCAS. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the skills I have taught service users put into practice. Nothing makes me prouder than watching a service user cook a meal independently after learning from me – it always brings a smile to my face.

If someone wanted to join PCAS, I would ask: 'Are you prepared for a challenge? Are you confident in your role? Are you willing to put residents first and fulfil their needs?' If they answered yes to all of these, I would gladly welcome them to my team."

Getting to Know Joanne:

When she’s not busy ensuring the best for her staff and service users, Joanne enjoys cooking, listening to music, and watching films. A big Marvel fan, she’s especially looking forward to the new Captain America film.

• Favourite Artist: "I don’t really have a favourite – I love music from the ‘60s to the ‘90s."
• Favourite Film: Snatch or Guardians of the Galaxy (she’s seen them all!)
