Interview with Operations Manager, Mel!
25th June 2024
This week I had the pleasure of interviewing our new Operations Manager Mel! We sat down and discussed her role at PCAS, her personal life, and her career at PCAS so far. We hope you enjoy it!
What is an Operations Manager?
An Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that we are compliant with regulations and that the people we support are safe. My typical day usually revolves around analysing records, reviewing any incidents or accidents if we have them, engaging in meetings with service users and stakeholders and any legal responsibilities involving my staff or service users.
What is your most rewarding moment at PCAS so far?
During my time at PCAS I've helped a number of service users achieve their personal goals and for me, that is most rewarding. A few that spring to mind are helping a service user get their hearing aids and supporting them to regularly wear them, helping a service user with anxiety access the local community and helping a new service user transition to their new home and interact with housemates.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
During my spare time, I am very family-oriented. Being a mother and a grandmother, I can often be seen supporting my daughter with football and the club she plays for. I also enjoy taking my dog for walks, watching TV and reading.
