7 Years of PCAS!
9th July 2024
This month PCAS celebrated its 7th Birthday!
PCAS was started in 2017 by Michelle Elliott and Craig Crockford with one small office, a desk, and a computer and has grown significantly since the start both organically and through acquisition. The vision remains the same to this day. The business now operates across Kent and employs over 180 staff. Having both worked in the social care sector for many years, their vision was to create high-quality support services that are flexible, responsive, creative, and individualised.
I had the chance to sit down with Craig and Michelle to discuss PCAS' past, its present and what the future holds for the company.
Michelle, in 2017 did you imagine that PCAS would be this big 7 years later? - I never thought that far ahead. When we started PCAS we just had a vision for offering really good and responsive services. It was very difficult to predict how far we could go at that time as we didn’t immediately have contracts with the local authority.
Craig, where do you see PCAS in 7 years? - This is now a question that the company should answer collectively, I would like to see us in neighbouring counties and London boroughs and with many specialisations in Care & Support
What is your most memorable moment at PCAS so Far? - Michelle: "There are so many but I think it would have to be taking over a service in crisis with 45 minutes notice. We still support the service users to this day. And the time we laminated cheese!"
Craig: "Tricky!! We have had so many moments, one by one they are memorable. First Office, first support package, first employee. It’s a journey and the list of memorable firsts will continue to grow. Our first payroll in September 17 was a total of £7,385 our last in June 24 was £345,829"
What is one thing about PCAS you think other people will love? - Craig: "Our staff are PCAS. People should absolutely love what our staff do and achieve with the people we support; we are immensely proud of what our staff do every day to support others."
Michelle: "The can-do attitude to support"
Here's to 7 more years of PCAS!
